This guy at the Sporting News put together a team of players that he’d want “in his foxhole,” which is probably very similar to the list of players he’d want in his cornhole. I guess the idea is that these are the toughest, best, most reliable, hardest guys that he’d trust to have his back.

And his QB? Peyton Manning. He of the 1 career playoff victory. 49 TD passes are great and all, but… when has Peyton Manning ever proved that he’ll come up big when it counts? The Florida Gators always slapped him around in college. In big games in the NFL thus far, Peyton Manning has not distinguished himself.

I’m not saying it’ll be that way forever, but… I dunno. When the pressure’s on, I’m certainly not making Peyton Manning my first choice. Until someone takes it from him, that honor goes to Tom Brady.

But otherwise, I think he’s got some good choices here. Hines Ward is a good guy for the foxhole team. Rodney Harrison’s an excellent choice. Other than Manning… not too bad.
