Darko’s per-48 numbers thus far in the preseason

17.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 6.4 blocks, 2.1 assists.

It’s nothing mind-blowing, and of course, his foul and turnover numbers are also off-the-charts, but hey… at least he’s on the court doing something.

  • With a block rate like that, Darko could lead the league in blocks even if he only plays just 25 minutes per game (which I hope he does play that much).

That block rate isn’t a fluke either. He has consistently put up big per-minute block numbers in both seasons.

  • Darko is certainly looking like he’ll at least be throwing some great block parties this year. When his offensive game starts to develop as he gets more confident under the big lights I think he’ll be a very solid contributor for Detroit. Maybe not Dwayne Wade solid, but an aggressive big man who can more than fill a role for Detroit.

Is there a deeper, more formidable front line in the league at protecting the rim ?? Sheed, Ben, Prince, Davis, Darko & even McDyess – the little fellas better have big cohunas if they want to venture down the lane.
