First of all, let me say that I think Terrell might be getting a little bit of a raw deal here… Yeah, he said that the Eagles would be unefeated with Brett Favre, but he was asked the question. It’s not like he called a press conference and said, “I think Brett Favre is a magnificent golden beast of a man, and not only would the Eagles be undefeated if he was our QB, but I also think that Donovan McNabb should dedicate the rest of his life to bringing Brett Favre sexual gratification. As soon as Peter King is done.”
But that didn’t happen. Someone asked him the question, and McNabb had also said earlier that the Eagles would be better if McNabb were healthy. So… duly noted, even if does nothing but lower TO from a solid 9.2 on the Douchebag Scale to a more reasonable 8.1.
However… led into it or not, what kind of an idiot would say that? Wouldn’t every NFL player in the world know that if they said such a thing, or even agreed to such a thing, that it would get major attention and cause a major problem?
So what kind of an idiot is TO? Well, that’s the thing. He isn’t one, which makes me believe that this was not an accident. He was not surprised by the reaction to this. The reporter lobbed him a question, and he took it where he wanted to go. For whatever twisted purposes that Owens and Drew Rosenhaus had in mind, TO wanted some attention. So he said what he said, ESPN tranformed into the Terrell Owens News Network, and somewhere, Drew Rosenhaus is wishing he had a Rollie Fingers mustache to sit back and twist.
I just don’t believe that someone, especially someone who’s dealt with the media as much as TO, does something like that on accident. Things just got a little too quiet for him, and he wanted to remind the media and the Eagles that he could send everything into a giant clusterfuck with just a few words. He has that power. The media has given it to him.
And great apology, too. No public apology has been as obviously written for someone since Ryan Leaf had to apologize for having a sissy fit on that reporter in the San Diego locker room.
So, mission accomplished, TO. I’m sure you’ll get what you want, and get out of Philadelphia without having to play any of those pesky playoff games. But who’s going to sign this guy next year? Who could trust him to not sabotage the season… or the next season? I can’t think of one team that would take that risk – okay, that’s not true. The Raiders would. And it’s hard to picture this ending any other way.

Doug
Before I even rady your last sentence, I was thinking to myself, “I know who will take TO, the Raiders”.
I’m having an moment here MJD, we agree on something for the first time in weeks. It’s beautiful isn’t it.

TO has publicly stated he wants to play in Atlanta with Vick. That’s where he lives, too. I’m betting that he’ll say all the right things to get himself into a Falcon uni next year….and then begin Operation Douchenozzle 4.
Also, those abs are inhuman.
