The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Steve Francis has been suspended because he refused to re-enter a game in the 4th quarter against the Sonics. According to the paper, Magic head coach Brian Hill asked Stevie Franchise to re-enter the game against the Sonics late in the fourth quarter, with the Magic down 16, and he refused.

You know, I didn’t have Steve Francis pegged as that kind of guy. Terrible point guard? Yes. Extremely talented player? Yes. But talented players who can score from the point guard position while not making their teammates better… those are a dime a dozen in the NBA.

Still, I didn’t have Stevie Franchise pegged as this kind of guy. He’s at least always given 100% effort. He’s always left it all on the floor. Why he refused to re-enter the game, I have no idea, but unless he’s hurt, there are no circumstances where this could not be considered a total bitch move.

Despite your nickname, You are not the franchise, my friend. You’re not above playing a little garbage time. I don’t care if you’re down by 80. You haven’t earned the right to make any kind of decision about who plays when. You are not Michael Jordan. You are not Kobe Bryant. You are not even among the Top 10 point guards in the NBA right now. You might not even be the best point guard on your team, so it’s probably in your best interests to listen to your coach and play, Franchise.
