re: okay
You're absolutely right. THese idiots are like some drunk king, crucifying every jester that bores them. Sports to these losers is nothing more than a prop for their sophomoric jokes; if it doens't have a penis/tits angle, they get bored. It took your entry to remember, hey, Mick had a kick-ass Sunday, but here is the essense of their entries: Yeah, he won... how boring: BUT HEY, WHAT YOU THINK OF PHIL'S MAN-BOOBS; DO YOU THINK FRED IS HIS GAY LOVER? AND BOY DO I WANT TO MAKE OUT WITH AMY. Grow up.

okay...

why can't anyone embrace greatness or accomplishment?

given the stress, the leaderboard, it being the Masters and such...Phil played arguably his best round of his life on Sunday.

If it were Tiger...wow, how special and great.

Nobody's interested anymore unless there is some sort of drama...storyline...controversy.

Remember when sports used to be about competition and greatness? Now, if there is no "angle", then Sportswriters, which I'm sorry, includes bloggers, feel they have the right to belittle and slam the accomplishment, because it doesn't give them anything controversial to write about.

How has Phil lost his charm? There is now a legitimate challenger to Tiger.

How about Phil being only the second guy in 20 years to win majors three years in row...

How about Phil being 2 wins away from holding all four major championships at once?

No serious challenger to put a shine on it? How should the fact that Tiger missed two very makeable eagle putts on the back nine tarnish Phil's accomplishment? When people lay down for Tiger in majors, its "Oh how intimidating he must be. He's so great."

When they lay down before Phil, its, "Oh. Boring."

The only thing missing Sunday was Phil and Couples getting a room at Butler Cabin and having a quickie before they each teed off. I was nauseated by the love fest and hand daps they consistently exchanged. Davis Love would have made for the perfect threesome. Can you imagine Tiger, Jack, Norman, Arnie, Faldo exchanging daps with a competitor in a major?! They'd rather eat your children (or something like that.) Now Amy and Fred's ex wife making out is another topic, but jesus, Couples did everything short of give Phil a reach around on 17.

I agree 100%. I've never been a real big fan of Phil and actually tried to write a post this morning and couldn't think of anything remotely interesting to say about him. It seems like everyone likes him cause he used to be an underdog, and then he won. Big Fuckin deal. Tiger is still the man to beat and his wife is hotter too.

re: Phil Nippleson's Man Boobs - I disagree that they are less prominent - its' because he's wearing black, which camouglages them a tad.

Having followed Mick for many years, I noticed that yu can predict when he's going to win a tournament - his nips get super-erect on Sunday.

Remember that year year when he started wearing Under Armor under his golf shirts? B/c the garment flattened out his nipples, he had a mediocre season.

Next season, the UnderArmor came off, and his nipples sprung out in all their unmanly glory...and he won his first Masters.

Yesterday, I noticed that Phil's nips were popping out like Tracy Lord's ....and I knew he has the tounament in the bag.

Having re-read my post, I am beginning to be worried about my sanity

I do not know how anyone can stand the announcers, including (but not limited to) Nantz. They are just ridiculously painful to listen to. And this is someone who has put up with multiple seasons of ESPN's Sunday Night football crew.

I'm just trying to figure out the new "greasy, shaggy haired" Phil look. It does seem like his man-boobs are a touch less prominent than in years past, though.

Couldn't disagree more, on all accounts.

When Tiger goes out and kills the field, every one says, "Oh, how wonderful!"

I'm in a workshop. Ill expound more later, cause...this topic...

The one (and only one) cool thing about Phil:

After the first Masters win, he wore the green jacket while having sex with his wife. Well done, though it's not as cool as say, oiling up the Larry O'Brien and.... I need to go take my medicine.

Phil Mickelson; phony smile "tanmits" and a Stepford family. What's not like. I didn't watch one hole and had a great weekend!
At least you didn't have to endure Nantz prattling on about another Tiger comeback. I'm sure nancy would've worked in the messiahs dying father too.

Other than Phil playing really well and any shot of Amy Mickelson this was a really boring Tournament. Tiger was never really a threat today, and Fred Couples faded away, ruining was would have been a really cool story. I agree, Phil isn't nearly as exciting now that he's actually winning these things rather than painfully blowing the lead in spectacular fashion. Now he's just some dude who's really good at golf and seems kinda phony. Talented but flawed player chasing a major was much more interesting.

A couple of things I'll remember from this Masters is when Nantz tongue-flubbed and said that Mickelson and Couples had just "head-bumped" when they, in fact, did the universal hand-bump. A head bump would have been kinda cool though.

And I'll remember that Mickelson and his caddie aren't afraid of each others cooties. The caddie handed him a water bottle, Phil took a swig, then the caddie sugar-lipped the same bottle. I generally don't do that with even my best friends, but maybe I'm crazy.

It's just too bad the Tiger vs. Phil action never materialized.
