How do you think Viking fans feel? If we're not hearing a joke about getting the pick in on time, we're hearing a joke about boats.

Darko is ranked way too high on that list. He could still be better than Melo, or even Bosh for that matter. And it's not like the Darko pick screwed over the Detroit franchise for the next decade or anything.

good to see the backdoor cuts resurface. hadn't seen these in a while.

as for delmon, i'd love to see how he threw it. i bet he wasn't looking and just threw it without giving two fucks. he'll likely get 50+ games...which is probably right...but i feel bad for this kid. he just briefly lost his temper and did something he instantly regretted. it's one thing if there is intent, but the kid just fucked up.

oh well.

I wonder about the people calling various sports radio talk shows today saying that it's the umpire's fault or that Young was put in a situation where he was "disrespected" and was provoked into chucking the bat. I don't care if the ump is porking your mom and mentions the URL to find the pics; you don't attempt to hit or intimidate the umpire. YOU JUST DON'T.

Definitly not just a flip of the bat. He gives it a solid toss. Plus at that point the ump doesn't have his mask on and the way the bat was spun he could have easily taken it in the face.

HOly Shit! That is much more of a thrown bat than I expected to see. Young has to be a good twenty feet away when he hits the ump squarely in the chest.

The video is kinda choppy, and its hard to guage velocity, but that was no mere "flip".

[...] Via the mighty mjd, we caught wind of ESPN’s famed Page 2’s compilation of the hundred worst draft picks of all time. Ryan Leaf (surprise, surprise) ranks second on this list, with Sam Bowie (you know, the dude picked before a certain Michael Jordan) being the all-time worst draft pick. [...]

I can tell, everyone down here is just pleased as punch about the Birmingham Bowl. There's nothing like seeing the fourth-best team in the Big East go at the third-best team in Conference USA in rainy 45-degree weather two days before Christmas.

I know you generally hate sweetness, but this is still a cool story -

Dakoda Dowd, a 13-year-old golf phenom from Palm Harbor, Fla., competed Thursday in the LPGA Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open - her first women's professional event.

Her mission was not to win, but to make a memory for her terminally ill mother.

When Ginn officials learned of Kelly Jo's wish to see her daughter play on the LPGA Tour, they offered a sponsor's exemption into the field. Dakoda was paired with Kate Golden and Tracy Hanson -- both at least 21 years older than the phenom -- and held her own, even outdriving both pros on a couple occasions.
